Good morning,
It's been a busy week here again.
My week started at the Arkansas Sheriff's Association conference in Little Rock. The conference lasts three days and allows Sheriffs to network and address upcoming legislation that may affect all sheriffs across the state. It was very informative and helpful to all attendees.
On Wednesday, one of my deputies, a drug task force officer, and a Fordyce Police Department officer were involved in a foot pursuit in the City of Fordyce. The suspect was eventually apprehended and found to have a stolen firearm out of Jacksonville, Arkansas. There are several pending charges involving this incident.
Also, this week, a search warrant was executed by Dallas County deputies, along with assistance from the Fordyce Police Department. There will be more to come on this incident as the investigation continues. I commend my staff for taking care of business as usual during my absence!
I am happy to announce that the young lady I went to Texas to pick up last week is safely back home and doing well! I want to remind everyone again of the dangers that lurk for young people on the internet. Stay apprised of your child's internet usage and who they may be in contact with.
Mr. Kerry Simmons has resumed the trash pickup program this week. As you know, he took Mr. Rucker's place to continue this essential program. Trash was picked up on Highway 8 to the Mcdonald Cemetary, from the Mcdonald Cemetary to Dallas 103. Rain has hampered their efforts this week, but they will be back at it next week.
